Why Complete Chiropractic Care?
Complete Chiropractic Care provides safe and effective treatment for many conditions of the muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints. It provides a unique combination of Spinal and Joint Manipulation Therapies (Traditional Chiropractic Care) and effective specialized muscle treatment techniques (Active Release Therapy®) that is unavailable at most therapeutic facilities.
I don’t like the idea of being “cracked” – are there other options for treatment?
Yes – spinal manipulation therapy “adjustments”, are but one of many treatment modalities used in the clinic. Your chiropractor will be happy to discuss these with you and together you can decide on the best treatment techniques for you.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Before your initial assessment, you will be emailed an intake form that you can complete electronically. We do have paper copies here if you're unable to fill out the electronic forms. This information will help us build an accurate clinical profile. The doctor will begin by reviewing and discussing your health history. This will be followed by a comprehensive physical assessment. Your doctor will then explain the nature of your dysfunction/pain and what type of treatment plan is necessary for you. Depending on the complexity of your complaint and the intensity of your pain/discomfort, you may or may not receive treatment immediately following your assessment. Your first visit will last approximately 45 minutes.
Will the treatment hurt?
Transient tenderness can be experienced by some patients after certain types of manual therapy. This is considered normal, but should be discussed with your chiropractor if it increases in intensity or lasts longer than 24-48 hours.
What should I wear?
Wearing loose-fitting clothing such as track pants, yoga pants, shorts, tanks tops and/or t-shirts is preferable to ensure an accurate diagnosis can be made.
Where can I park?
Ample street parking is available adjacent to the clinic on Roncesvalles Avenue, and on nearby side streets. Free one-hour parking is available on either side of Howard Park Avenue.
Do the doctors run on time?
Typically, yes. A part of our service is to stay on time (give or take a few minutes). We know how valuable your time is and being on time allows us to plan our day, and you to plan yours.
With respect to staying on time, please consider the following:
– on the day of your initial consultation, please arrive 10 – 15 minutes early to fill out our clinical intake forms [if you haven’t filled this out in advance]. We highly recommend completing the electronic forms at home to ensure your appointment starts right on time.
– if you are more than a few minutes late for your allotted appointment time, we may need to reschedule for the next available treatment time.
– WE NEVER DOUBLE BOOK, or change patient appointment times without their knowledge.
– If you’re going to be more than a few minutes late, please call us at 416-792-8020 and we will do our best to accommodate your changing schedule.
Will my insurance coverage pay for Complete Chiropractic Care?
Most extended health plans cover chiropractic care. Please contact your insurance company to determine the extent of your coverage. At Evolve we take payment up front and can offer claim submissions, so you'll be reimbursed by your insurance company in a few business days. Please note we do not offer direct billing.
Do I require an MD referral?
Complete Chiropractic Care does not require a referral from your MD or any other medical specialist. The Province of Ontario grants Chiropractors the status of Primary Care Doctors who have the ability to diagnose and treat specific conditions without referral.
How much do treatment sessions cost? How can I pay?
Clinical fees are posted here. Please note that payment is due following each treatment. Your balance may be paid by cash, Interac, personal cheque (made to Evolve Chiropractic & Physiotherapy), or by Visa/Mastercard.
How often will I need treatment?
Your frequency of care will depend entirely on your body’s individual needs. Typically, less frequent treatment is required as healing occurs during the course of the treatment.
Is Complete Chiropractic Care beneficial for pregnant patients?
Complete Chiropractic Care is a safe and effective way to treat many of the aches and pains associated with all stages of pregnancy. Many women find both chiropractic care as well as massage therapy helpful in coping with pregnancy-related pain and discomfort.
I’m not injured! Is Complete Chiropractic Care beneficial for me?
Absolutely! Complete Chiropractic Care is designed to correct even the subtlest imbalances that may be keeping you from performing at your best.
What is Maintenance Care? Why is it beneficial?
Once your physical imbalances are corrected and proper function is restored to your body, consistent, infrequent treatment is often necessary to keep you feeling and performing at your very best. Customized to your specific needs, even as little as one treatment a month will allow Complete Chiropractic Care doctors to detect future problems and correct them before they interrupt your life.
